The Gulf of Mexico is just as important to a person in Bahrain as it is to the USA. We all share the waters of the world. The oil eruption in the Gulf is an international incident of epic proportions. All of us, collectively, can stop this gusher and clean up the oil flowing amok in the Gulf.

Easter Blessing

Easter is a time to remember that all that we have comes from God. With the struggles that we all are going through at this time, I wanted to still my mind and remember that true medical care comes from above. Yes, I believe that God endows individuals with "the gift of Healing" and that we should all have equal access to the these "Healers". Having said that, we need a remedy for each person to be able to have medical attention as they need it. A group prayer, an Easter prayer, is definitely appropriate now. Lord Jesus, give us the strength and courage to be mindful of the needs of others and to give our gifts to those in need.

I'm wishing a very Merry Christmas to all. Next year should be very exciting, hopefully all our military in Iraq will come home and we will welcome them back with open arms. If the heathcare reform passes, we won't have to deal with that until 2013, thankfully. All in all, I plan to be optomistic and realize that most people in polictical positions aren't adept in finance or medicine. Let's hope that the true professionals can presuade Congress to accept their limitations.

Each time that I spoke with another person or group of people their interpretation of healthcare reform differed. Above all, we as professionals deserve a clear explanation so that we can impart a correct and reliable message.

The new "Government Healthcare Plan" will not go into effect until 2013 making it essential to choose your present day needs. As the season of enrollments start with a frenzy, I am contemplating why most employers wait until the fall to enroll their benefits. I understand that it mostly has to do with plan year, but to space out these enrollments would help people have more quality time to understand the offerings and make informed decisons. Let's try to change this if we're in the mood to change most other things about health insurance.

Trying to Watch Soccer

We were trying to watch soccer since the USA was playing Brazil in FIFA final. The noise from the crowd was horrific. We are having the leave the game on mute. Too much for us.

Being Friends is More Powerful!

We, the women of South Carolina, support being friends with those that are different than we are. When a person takes it in their hands to attack another because their views follow an opposing stance, the outcome is never peaceful.

The laws in America naturally create opposition. Look at the Democrats and the Republicans, they are always fighting, mostly over nothing.

Whether we take a stand on abortion, equal human rights or health care; just a few unresolved issues in the American fabric; we must always be willing to solve things peacefully.

Murder or the murderous intent must be cleansed from the American psychology. We are one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Take Life Seriously!

As I recall the changes that have been made in our society since the 60's and 70's, the most promising is the new technology that gives the knowledge first hand that there is a tiny baby growing quickly after conception. I feel that most women armed with this new information have tried to make good decisions based on faith and science. It is good to see more scientific and spiritual matters merge. SouthCarolinaWomen support women to strive to make choices before we suffer unwanted consequences. Sometimes we live in a state of choice that makes us aware that "just because something is legal, doesn't make it right for us". Many examples come to mind such as smoking, drinking hard alcohol, abortion on teenage girls without the mother present, embryonic stem cell research and I am sure there are many more.

Children need protection

I am hurt and mourning the terrible events that have taken place in USA and Germany. Each instance there is a shooter taking the lives of innoncent children, adults, the elderly, even parents and grandparents. I was living in Golden, Colorado at the time of the Columbine shootings and was utterly devastated to see the police run from the building to get back-up. We must "look for" these individuals that are in such a state of darkness and evil that their soul has literally escaped their spherical awareness. We, the people of the world, need to "look out for" each other. If we know someone this disturbed, lacking consciousness in our midst, we must strategize our immediate response with a plan of self-protection. Let's band together!

Connecting with Old Friends

We the women of South Carolina realize the importance of connecting with old friends..."old friends" are friends that we do not talk to on a regular basis but when we talk to, it feels that there has never been any separation. We have children, grandchildren, neices and nephews that we love and are proud of. Call someone day, call an "old friend".

MRSA

As I read and hear more about MRSA, I wonder if using all the hand sanitizers have caused the children to become resistant to MRSA. I do realize that small children are equally affected by this deadly staph infection. We as parents and grandparents must figure out ways to reduce the exposure. Think about the mounds of plastic toys that we now see in playrooms and nurseries. How can we really sanitize all this plastic. Some of the plastic it made with substantard material; anyway, another subject. If you have any good information on getting rid of MRSA, please let me know.

Help the children!

There are millions of children that need homes. Did you know that, just in the United States, 1.35 million children are homeless at some time during a year? I pray for the children of the United States and the children of the world to find good homes. The children need us and we need them. With God, all things are possible. Saying that, there is hope for the children, but we must be proactive citizens of the world.
